AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said that Sathya Sai Baba followed a path aimed at universal peace and human welfare. He termed Sathya Sai Baba as a divine figure people witnessed during his lifetime. Chandrababu spoke during the centenary celebrations in Puttaparthi.
He said that Sathya Sai Baba treated human service as service to God and put it into practice throughout his life. He spread love across the globe, and many people abroad recognized his work. Chandrababu pointed out that Sathya Sai Baba supplied drinking water to 30 lakh people in 1,600 villages. He had also established 102 schools and a number of hospitals.
Today, the Sathya Sai Trust operates 200 centers in 140 countries with over 7 lakh volunteers. Sathya Sai Baba responded on many occasions to the needs of people faster than governments, Chandrababu said and appealed to everybody to understand his message of love and follow the path shown by him.
AP Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan termed Sathya Sai Baba as a rare spiritual power that lights up the world. The birth of Sathya Sai Baba in backward Anantapur has brought pride to that district, he said. Pawan shared that even during his foreign visits, he happened to meet many Sathya Sai Baba devotees.
Pawan stated that Sathya Sai Baba aimed at providing safe drinking water to ordinary people and instituted mechanisms similar to the Jal Jeevan Mission. The former MLA said Sathya Sai Baba inspired several leading personalities, including Sachin Tendulkar and several IAS officers. He also said the government will continue to uphold the spirit of service inspired by Sathya Sai Baba.
