Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh:
A stampede occurred at the Kasibugga Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Srikakulam district as a large mass of people congregated for the Ekadashi festival and things turned chaotic. As many as seven people died in the unfortunate incident.
Chief Minister Chandrababu’s Response:
- Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu voiced deep shock and sorrow over the stampede. He termed the loss of the lives of devotees as painful and conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased.
- The Chief Minister ordered the officials to ensure that the injured got immediate medical attention, besides instructing the local authorities and public representatives to reach the site and monitor the rescue and relief operations closely.
