Large Public Turnout at TDP Central Office
Huge crowds thronged the TDP central office on Tuesday as Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh hosted the 70th Praja Darbar. People and activists began to arrive as early as 5 a.m., learning that the Minister would visit. By the time the Praja Darbar actually commenced, all premises were full of people. Lokesh spent four hours, between 11.30 a.m. and 3.30 p.m., interacting with the public. He received around 4,000 petitions. He welcomed all those who came to his premises, heard their problems, and promised support from the coalition government. He also issued directions to officials directly from the venue to act upon the complaints.
Complaints Submitted by Citizens
- In a letter, Danapana Harikrishna from Buddepupet, Ichchapuram mandal, Srikakulam district, said that false cases were filed against him during the previous YSRCP government and local leaders illegally registered his land in their names.
- M. Ravi Babu, of Kakumanu, Guntur district, complained that YSRCP leaders were trying to occupy the land he inherited using fake documents and that police had not taken action.
- Ulidra Ravi of Adoni, Kurnool district, sought reinstatement to the post of lecturer, contending that he was removed as guest lecturer during the YSRCP regime as he was an active supporter of the TDP.
- The wife of one Kanchipalli Srinu from Amalapuram sought justice for her husband’s alleged murder and urged action against those responsible.
- Similarly, Garimella Anil Kumar from Vijayawada Rural complained about unauthorized construction on government land in Tadepalli, Kothuru, and requested immediate intervention.
Appeals from Organizations and Associations
- The Unemployed Para Medical Health Assistant (Male) Association urged the government to fill vacant male health assistant posts in the Medical and Health Department.
- Nallamala Tribal Chenchu (PTG) Welfare Association asked the district administration for establishing new schools in the Tribal Chenchu and Adivasi Gude areas of the district.
- The Andhra Pradesh Power Employees Union urged the government to resolve issues concerning 23,500 contract employees in AP Genco, Transco, and DISCOMs regarding job regularization and salary revision.
- B.M. Kishore from Byreddipalli mandal, Chittoor district, requested the establishment of a government junior college with science, arts and vocational streams.
- Few Mee Seva administrators asked to bring the services of Mee Seva under IT Department, stating that their income had fallen due to the exemption of revenue services.
- Minister’s Response Minister Lokesh has assured that the government would sort out public grievances at the earliest. He instructed the concerned departments to go through each petition and initiate necessary action. He said their aim was to render justice and find a solution to citizens' problems effectively.
