Vijay Speaks to Public After Karur Incident

Vijay assails DMK, alludes to corruption charges

  • Vijay, during his speech, said the DMK came to power by giving false promises. He said TVK follows no fixed ideology, and he described the DMK's ideology as corruption.
  • He accused the officials of extracting about 22 lakh units of sand from the Palar river near Kanchipuram and causing an estimated loss of about ₹4,730 crore.

Vijay Outlines TVK's Focus Areas

  • Vijay added that a TVK government will place the safety of women atop its list of priorities.
  • He also said the party will bring in reforms in the education system and support objectives like each family owning its house, a two-wheeler, at least one graduate, one with permanent income, and a security plan.

Vijay said he entered politics after clearly stating who his political and ideological opponents are. He said he will not mislead people, and his purpose in politics is public welfare.
Permission Denied for Women With Children In T. Nagar, too, women who came along with their children were not allowed entry into the meeting. It was reported that the decision was taken to avoid any inconvenience or disturbances to children since Vijay's events usually attract large crowds. However, users of social media expressed mixed opinions. Some supported this decision on the basis of safety concerns, while others felt this was unfair to those women who wanted to see their preferred political leader.
