YS Jaganmohan Reddy Appears At CBI Court In Hyderabad

Vast Crowd at the Court

Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy appeared before the CBI principal court in Hyderabad on Thursday. This appearance was part of the conditions for his Europe tour. He arrived with a large contingent of followers, marching from Begumpet to the court in Nampally. His supporters raised slogans along the route and outside the court. The event showed his public support and influence.

Incidents in Begumpet

A few activists tried to meet Jagan in Begumpet, causing scuffles and pushing of police. Police took a number of measures to regulate the crowd. Flower pots were damaged in the melee. Two former ministers, Dharmana Prasada Rao and Perni Nani, turned up. Dharmana entered the court premises while Perni Nani was stopped at the gate. Only two vehicles belonging to Jagan were allowed inside. Lawyers in large numbers, even those who did not have cases, tried to meet him, shake hands, or take selfies. A struggling police tried to control the crowd, while his supporters helped escort him.

Jagan’s Statement in Court

Jagan appeared before the CBI Chief Court as per the requirement for his Europe tour. The arguments were ongoing in the Dalmia case, which is part of the disproportionate assets case. Magistrate Dr. T. Raghuram allowed the arguments to continue despite Jagan's arrival. Jagan stayed in the court for 15–20 minutes. His lawyer G. Ashok Reddy forwarded the attendance memo to the judge. Jagan said he returned on October 19. The judge asked if he wanted to say anything, to which he replied in the negative. The judge then closed the hearing.

Other Attendees

The daughter of former minister Viveka, Narreddy Sunitha Reddy, was present in the courtroom to attend the hearing on her petition for continuing the CBI investigation into the Viveka murder case.

Security Measures and Slogans Police blocked all short routes to the court from Nampally Market Chowrasta, Red Hills Chowrasta, Devibagh area, Khairatabad Road, and Bazaar Ghat. Vehicle and pedestrian movement was not possible in these routes. As Jagan’s convoy reached the court, YSRCP leaders and activists who were standing along the roads shouted slogans. Outside the courtroom, activists continued chanting slogans for Jagan, including references to a 2029 election.
