Century In SMAT Vaibhav Suryavanshi Makes History

Young Indian cricketer Vaibhav Suryavanshi has created a new record. He became the youngest player, at 14 years and 250 days of age, to score a century in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT).

Vaibhav achieved this feat during the match between Maharashtra and Bihar on Tuesday. He remained not out after scoring 108 runs, smashing 7 fours and 7 sixes in 61 balls.

The previous record was held by Vijay Jol. Vijay scored a century in 63 balls for Maharashtra against Mumbai in 2013, when he was 18 years and 118 days old.

This is Vaibhav’s first century in SMAT. The left-hander had scored three T20 centuries before turning 15. He had also made centuries in IPL 2025 and the Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025.

He helped Bihar score 176 runs for 3 wickets in their 20 overs in a Maharashtra vs Bihar match.
