India batsman Virat Kohli was back in the domestic circuit as he participated in the Vijay Hazare Trophy tournament following the ODI series between India and South Africa. Kohli was playing for the Delhi side.
Virat Kohli scored an inning of 131 runs in Delhi’s match against Andhra Pradesh in just 101 deliveries with 14 fours and three sixes. Later, in the next match against Gujarat, Virat Kohli scored an inning of 77 runs in 61 deliveries with 13 fours and one six. Delhi emerged victorious by seven runs in that match, with Virat Kohli being declared the Man of the Match.
During the Gujarat match, Kohli looked like scoring yet another century. Gujarat spinner Vishal Jayswal got him out with his properly planned ball. Kohli had stepped ahead to play the shot but could not connect with the ball. The wicket-keeper, Urvil Patel, performed the stumping to get Kohli out.
This was Kohli’s last domestic match for the year. After playing the match, he left for Mumbai. New Zealand is scheduled to tour India from January 11. There will be three ODI matches between the two countries. Kohli was in great form when they played the last series against South Africa.
