The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet has cleared key administrative decisions. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu presided over the meeting. Proposals for reorganization of districts in the state were cleared by the cabinet.
Approving the formation of three new districts, the cabinet cleared the creation of Madanapalle, Markapuram, and Rampachodavaram districts. While there are now 25 districts in AP, with the approval of these three, the number will increase to 28. The final gazette notification will be issued the day after tomorrow.
The cabinet also approved the district boundary amendments. Rayachoti of Annamayya district would form a part of the new Madanapalle district. Rajampet from Kadapa district and Railway Koduru of Tirupati district would also be merged with Madanapalle district. Gudur would be shifted from Tirupati district to Nellore district.
Besides reorganizing the districts, the cabinet cleared the formation of five new revenue divisions. These are targeted to achieve more efficiency in administration and governance in various parts of the state.
