The Chief Minister, Chandrababu Naidu, declared that the state's education system will be a model for the entire country in three years. He said Minister Lokesh has assured him about this goal. Naidu addressed the mega PTM at Bhamini Adarsh School in Palakonda constituency, Parvathipuram Manyam district.
Minister Lokesh appreciated the officials for implementing reforms in education effectively. Students at Bhamini Adarsh School contributed actively during the meeting, he said. Lokesh said he wants to understand the needs of students and is committed to providing a strong foundation in all subjects.
Minister Lokesh emphasized the following initiatives under the “Wings for Dreams” program:
Implementation of "Mustabu", the students' hygiene program, announced by Collector Prabhakar Reddy, in the Manyam district, covering all state schools.
Naidu told Minister Lokesh that it was his duty and responsibility to improve the educational standard of the students. He recalled having mentored Lokesh when he was not very good in certain subjects and added that after training and studying at Stanford University, Lokesh had become a minister. Such guidance should now be extended to all students, Naidu said.
The government has divided students into three categories: Sky, Mountain, and Steam. Students get tailored learning based on their performance through the clicker system. Naidu referred to blind student Karunakumari, who studied in a government school and played for the World Cup-winning women's blind cricket team of the country. He said that quality education should not be imposed; even short, focused study leads to excellence.
The state also introduced the “Leap” app to enable parents to track student attendance and their progress while sitting at home. Schools offer nutritionally adequate meals and keep a low student-teacher ratio of 1 teacher for every 18 students in government schools and 1 for every 26 in private schools. Teachers are assigned to high-performing areas, and even their training is continued. Parents have been encouraged to enroll children in government schools.
The government promotes moral education through guidance from Moral Values Advisor Chaganti Koteswara Rao. Students actively practice these values in school assemblies. Every Saturday, therefore, has been declared as a “No Bag Day” to reduce pressure and improve the quality of learning.
