Bhogapuram Airport To Open In May, Announces Rammohan Naidu

Preparation at the Airport and a Mock Run

Union Minister Rammohan Naidu said Bhogapuram International Airport is being readied efficiently. "A trial run will be conducted next month," he added. An agreement to that effect for GMR-Mansaa Aviation Educity project was inked at the Radisson Blu Resort here on Tuesday, in the presence of State Minister Lokesh.

Inauguration Programme

Addressing the gathering after the launch of the project, Rammohan Naidu said the airport was initially scheduled to open in June next year. Now, it would be inaugurated a month in advance in May.

Educity Education Opportunities

Rammohan Naidu has gone on to elucidate that the Aviation Educity project will facilitate multiple educational institutions and universities. Training can also be arranged in these areas in the aviation sector.

Integrated Education and Innovation Hub

The government is planning to create Bhogapuram as the country's first integrated education and innovation corridor. Part of this will be the Aviation Education City at the Vizianagaram-Visakhapatnam border.

Key Stakeholders

• The project, christened the GMR-Mansaa Educity Project, will see major contributions from none other than: - Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Goa Governor and Mansaa's Trust Chairman - Grandhi Mallikarjuna Rao, GMR Group Chairman.
• It shall hopefully encourage education, innovation, and aviation training within the region.
