Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar again had breakfast together amidst ongoing discussions over the Chief Minister’s post in Karnataka. On Tuesday morning, Siddaramaiah visited the residence of Shivakumar. During the meeting, Siddaramaiah told Shivakumar that he will become Chief Minister whenever the party high command decides. He added that the party is currently focused on the 2028 elections and local elections. Both leaders said that their main priority is fulfilling the promise made to the public.
During the breakfast, Siddaramaiah said that they talked about the strategy to be adopted in the coming assembly sessions and problems relating to farmers, among other issues. He added that in case the party high command called them to Delhi, both leaders were ready to attend. Siddaramaiah made it clear that all leaders in the government were united and working for the development of the state. He also said the party was gearing up for the 2028 election. A meeting of Congress MPs will be held on December 8.
Earlier, DK Shivakumar had called on Siddaramaiah at his residence for a breakfast meeting. On that occasion, both leaders assured the media that the meeting was aimed at putting an end to the confusions spread about the change in leadership. They blamed the BJP-JDS for spreading lies. They asserted that they would jointly counter such misleading claims of opposition parties. Both leaders further clarified that there were no differences between them in the past and there won't be any in the future. Today's meeting at DK's residence was, therefore, a continuation of the same process.
