High Court Construction Work Resumes In Amaravati

Work has resumed at the High Court building construction site in Amaravati. A major milestone in the development of the capital city, this project was stalled for a very long time.

Foundation Work Restarted

Municipal Administration Minister Narayana restarted the raft foundation works on Thursday. The High Court building is coming up near Rayapudi. The minister said the building is being constructed as per the design prepared by Norman Foster + Partners.

Size of the Project and Design Details

In all, the High Court complex would be spread over an area of 21 lakh square feet. It will house 52 court halls. These court halls will be on the 2nd, 4th, and 6th floors. The Chief Justice’s court is slated to be on the 8th floor.

Construction Schedule

The government has targeted completion of the High Court construction by the end of 2027. According to the minister, the work had earlier progressed during the TDP government between 2014 and 2019, when part of the raft foundation was completed.

Work Resumes Under Coalition Government

This construction was subsequently stalled when development works of Amaravati came to a grinding halt. The High Court project has now restarted with the formation of the current coalition government. The minister also said that the construction work relating to the Secretariat iconic towers and the Assembly buildings was progressing at a brisk pace.
