- N. Chandrababu Naidu stated that the government is committed to building houses for poor families. He said this effort is part of the second phase of house-warming ceremonies after the coalition government took power.
- He explained that house-warming events are currently taking place for 2.50 lakh houses across the state. In Tirupati district, about 15,659 homes exist which are now being built and transferred to new owners.
- The government has successfully built and handed over 5.50 lakh homes. He stated that the upcoming 4.50 lakh homes will reach completion and distribution by December.
Housing Projects and Infrastructure
Chandrababu attended a house-warming event for TIDCO housing units in Puduru during his Tirupati district visit.
The housing projects will include essential facilities which provide:
- Parks
- Walking tracks
- Basic infrastructure for daily needs
He explained that these facilities work to enhance the quality of life which residents experience.
Remarks on Previous Government and Projects
Chandrababu criticized the previous administration. He stated that funds provided by the Central Government under the urban housing scheme were misused.
He provided additional information about the matter by saying:
- The previous government created a debt of ₹816 crore
- Houses were planned in unsuitable locations
- Poor families faced difficulties in building homes
- The Polavaram Project was negatively affected
He assured that his government will complete the Polavaram project before the next Godavari Pushkarams.
Focus on Coastal Development and Fishermen Welfare
- Chandrababu emphasized that the state's coastline holds significant value. He said it should support the livelihood of fishermen.
- He announced that financial assistance during the fishing ban period has been increased to ₹20,000.
The government is using its technological advancements to achieve improved governance. Chandrababu mentioned the introduction of:
- Manamitra
- WhatsApp Governance
He showed that these tools help organizations to deliver their services more effectively because of their working features.
Amaravati Capital Development
- Chandrababu announced that the assembly had passed a resolution which designated Amaravati as the official state capital. The Central Government received the proposal.
- He stated that the capital city would remain unchanged after the law reached its final version. He wants to develop Amaravati at the same speed which Hyderabad and Chennai are developing.
Welfare Programs and Social Support
The government operates its welfare programs while it directs its efforts towards development projects.
The main programs of the project consist of:
- The distribution of pensions to 6.3 million recipients who receive their payments on the first day of each month
- Thalliki Vandanam for mothers, regardless of the number of children
- Stree Shakti, which provides free bus travel for women
Chandrababu said that the government wants to create a balance between its welfare programs and its long-term development objectives.
