The CM said that it is the duty of the government to maintain the dignity of the police. He also said it is the duty of the police to protect the citizens. He called upon the police department to cooperate with them to uphold the order of the public.
Chandrababu Naidu said that criminals are becoming more organized and brazen. He said that effective law and order are crucial in preventing crimes even before they happen. He told the police to work furtively and effectively as in the manner of “a third eye.” He said that crime control mechanisms in other nations are focused on surveillance and rapid response. He ordered the police to expect new trends in crimes, carefully track known offenders, and adopt technology in preventing crimes. He reminded the police that each crime should be treated seriously and promptly.
The Chief Minister said during the previous administration, organized criminals used women for illicit work like drug trafficking, land grabbing, and violence as a result of the governance failure. But he continued on to say how this current government is restoring a strong police force.
Chandrababu Naidu explained that police recruitment, which was delayed by the previous government despite the court orders to that effect, saw writ petitions mount to 31 with the express intention of seeing that the current recruitment did not take place. But the government managed to enlist policemen despite the hurdles.
He explained that examination processes were done expeditiously, and without political interference, results were released. Altogether, 6,014 candidates were shortlisted and sent for training. These include :
‘There were no political leaders who recommended applicants, it was strictly merit-based,’ he said.
Chandrababu Naidu cited examples to drive home his point. He said their effort was influenced by incorrect reports and delayed investigations in some incidents in the past. Chandrababu Naidu reiterated that it is essential to have correct investigations on a basis of evidence. Law Enforcement Careers and Career Dedication The Chief Minister also said that during his previous terms, around 24,000 Police employment opportunities were provided. He made it very sure that the points in the election manifesto regarding the job providing policy were repeated. Around 735 industries were in agreement for which a total of Rs. 19.93 lakh crores is expected to be invested. This will provide more than 22 lakh job opportunities. After consulting with Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and DGP Harish Kumar Gupta on the issue, the Chief Minister has ordered to increase immediately the stipend amount for the trainee constables. The monthly stipend of Rs. 4,500/Rs. that was being paid to the trainee constables will now be increased to Rs. 12,500/. For the first time, the stipend amount of the constable trainees increased in this state. Good news for the trainee constables.
