He said:"Potti Sriramulu's life is exemplary because he sat on an indefinite hunger strike for the creation of the separate state for the Telugu-speaking populace. And, his struggle became the foundation of the creation of the state of Andhra Pradesh."
Some members of the Arya Vysya community joined Janasena on Sunday during a program held at Mangalagiri. The program saw the guidance of Janasena leader Penugonda Subbarayudu. Janasena leader Nagababu welcomed the newcomers by providing them with scarves.
Nagababu spoke at the program and said that the first name which is linked to the Arya Vysya communities is that of Potti Sriramulu. He said that naming the Polavaram water project after Sriramulu and not after the political leaders ensures that his sacrifices are not forgotten by generations to come. This project gives filtered drinking water to the public.
The program was attended by Legislative Council Whip P. Hariprasad, State Police Housing Corporation Chairman Shiva Srinivas, and Janasena leaders Chillapalli Srinivas Rao, Udaya Bhanu, Kilari Roshaiah, Panchakarla Sandeep, Devaki Venkateswarlu, and others.
