TDP Rajya Sabha Candidates Submit Nomination Papers

Telugu Desam Party TDP candidates, Sana Satish, Chintakayala Vijay and Bhashyam Ramakrishna have submitted their nomination papers for the Rajya Sabha positions from Andhra Pradesh. They went to the Returning Officer’s office at the Assembly, with party leaders and supporters, to file the nominations, sort of right in time.

Before actually filing, the candidates paid respect to the statue of N.T. Rama Rao (NTR) at the TDP central office. The party had already made the official names public on Saturday for all three Rajya Sabha seats, and yeah the process moved from there.

Bhashyam Ramakrishna’s Selection

  • Bhashyam Ramakrishna, who chairs Bhashyam Educational Institutions, has been linked with the TDP for a number of years. He backed the party when it was in opposition, and even after the alliance formed the government in 2024, he kept showing up for organizational work, as well as training related activities.
  • Earlier, Ramakrishna had really wanted to contest the Guntur Lok Sabha seat in the 2024 elections, but the ticket was not granted. Still, he did not step back, and he continued to contribute to the party’s ongoing programs.

Sana Satish Gets Another Term Opportunity

Sana Satish, coming from Kakinada, also asked for a Lok Sabha ticket in the 2024 elections but that selection did not happen. Later, he entered the Rajya Sabha through a by-election conducted after Mopidevi Venkata Ramana Rao resigned in December 2024.

Because that Rajya Sabha term was only around one and a half years, the party then decided to offer him one more chance. Party leaders, while taking the call, also looked at social representation, in a broader sense.

Chintakayala Vijay Chosen to Represent Youth and BC Community

  • The TDP chose Chintakayala Vijay with the idea of promoting young leadership, and also for ensuring representation for the Backward Classes BC community, in the mix.
  • Vijay is the son of a senior TDP leader and former Assembly Speaker Ayyanna Patrudu. During the time the party was in opposition , Vijay stayed quite active in the party programs and different activities. Earlier, he had hoped to contest from the Anakapalli Lok Sabha constituency in 2024 but , at that moment the ticket was not allotted to him for political reasons.
  • Later on, the party leaders looked at his role in the organization and chose him for a Rajya Sabha seat. And yes, Ayyanna Patrudu too strongly pushed for Vijay’s candidature, saying it was the right way forward.
