Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Outlines State Development Plans At Husnabad Event

Global Summit and Vision for Telangana

Husnabad, NewsToday: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced that a Global Summit would be organized to get plans ready for Telangana's future. He said the government will present a vision document to the world. The CM emphasized that the state is marching towards development, giving prime importance to women's welfare, farmers' progress, and opportunities for youth.

He spoke as the chief guest at the ‘Prajapalana- Praja Vijayotsava Sabha’ in Husnabad, Siddipet district, on Wednesday. After concluding his Delhi tour, the CM reached Husnabad at 5.30 pm and laid the foundation stone for projects worth Rs. 262.68 crore. He later addressed the public gathering.

Historical and Political Context

  • He underlined the historical importance of Husnabad, mentioning that local leaders like Sardar Sarvai fought for regional rights. He said this helped achieve the long-cherished dream of a separate Telangana state. Revanth Reddy also recalled Sonia Gandhi's promise to Telangana in Karimnagar in 2004.
  • He said that the development plans of Telangana have been explained by him to various national leaders who include Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Kharge, and Prime Minister Modi. He invited them to the Telangana Rising Global Summit on December 8–9.

Remembering December 3 and Public Welfare

  • The CM also recalled December 3, the death anniversary of martyr Srikanthachari, who led the Mali Dasa movement. The government, he said, had given 60,000 jobs in its first year and was gearing up to fill an additional 40,000 vacancies. The Telangana electorate, he pointed out, voted in the present government to bring in the change precisely two years ago.
  • The CM also spoke about major irrigation projects. The SRSP project in Karimnagar and Warangal districts began during Nehru’s rule and was completed by the Congress government. Under the current government, projects like Nagarjunasagar, Srisailam and Jurala are progressing. Telangana is now leading in rice production in the country.

Panchayat Elections and Village Development

Revanth Reddy called upon the people to elect public representatives who cooperate with the government. He warned that villages would suffer if their leaders oppose development. He called for the election of problem-solvers to the panchayat posts. The CM clarified that village projects were financed by the government and underlined that these elections would bring development to the rural areas.

Ministerial Support and Government Initiatives

  • Tummala Nageswara Rao emphasized oil palm cultivation and declared an oil palm factory at North Telangana.
  • According to Vivek Venkataswamy, the government is supplying rice worth Rs. 14,000 crores to the poor.
  • Sridhar Babu stressed on programmes for the youth and asked people to support Congress-backed candidates in the panchayat elections.
  • Ponnam Prabhakar reiterated the assurance that development programs and promises made during elections, including about Priyanka Gandhi's guidance, would be accomplished by the government.
  • Others who attended included Adluri Laxman Kumar, Adi Srinivas, Medipalli Satyam, Dr. Sanjay, Vijayaramana Rao, Makkan Singh, and Kavvampalli Satyanarayana. The CM also inspected exhibition stalls set up near the stage.

Women Empowerment and Housing Initiatives

The CM also spoke of women’s programmes. He said, among other things, that beyond getting free travel, women now own 1,000 buses. Free bus travel cost the government Rs. 8,000 crore while the government provided solar power units to the poorest families. Ration cards are issued in the name of the girl child, which simplified access. The Government proposes to construct 4.5 lakh Indiramma houses with Rs. 22,500 crores and intend to construct 20 lakh houses in the next ten years.
