Telangana To Send Intermediate Hall Tickets To Parents Phones

Taking the Telangana Intermediate Board is going to bring in new initiatives aimed at facilitating better service to students and parents. Till now, the board sent daily SMSes to the parents regarding the attendance of students. It has now announced more such steps.

Hall Tickets to be sent via WhatsApp

The board will send students’ hall tickets to their parents’ WhatsApp numbers 45 days to two months in advance of exams, starting from February 25. According to Intermediate Board Secretary Krishna Aditya, the move is aimed at informing parents about hall ticket numbers, the examination centre, and schedules. The decision reflects the fact that most parents now own smartphones.

Second-Year Hall Tickets Include First-Year Marks

The hall tickets will also provide a link to first-year marks for second-year students, through which parents can know the subjects in which their children passed or failed in the first year. According to officials, this facility will benefit around 10 lakh students.

Improved question paper transport

Till last year, the question papers used to be dispatched from the press to the Intermediate Board and then to district strong rooms, which sometimes led to a lot of confusion and mix-ups. This year, the question papers were dispatched directly from the printing press to district centers. GPS devices attached to the vehicles transporting the question papers will track their movement. The transport will also be monitored at a command and control center as part of the system. In the process, the management of the examination will become much more safe and functional.
