Residents across Telangana may see a shift in weather over the next 2 days, because moderate to heavy rains are expected in a number of districts. As per the Meteorological Department, rain activity is likely to remain on Wednesday and Thursday, and in some places there could be scattered showers along with thunderstorms, plus gusty winds.
The weather wing has indicated that several pockets in Telangana may get moderate to heavy rainfall during this two day window. Rain-bearing systems are expected to result in widespread cloud cover, with bouts of intermittent showers, mainly across the northern, eastern, and central parts of the state.
Local updates are recommended for everyone, since thunderstorms and lightning may come along with the downpour in certain areas.
A good number of districts are expected to get rainfall during this time. They include:
In these areas, scattered showers are possible, and some locations may actually witness stronger spells of rain compared to others.
The Meteorological Department has put out an Orange Alert for the districts where heavier rainfall is anticipated. This orange alert basically means a bigger level of weather risk, and it asks people to stay a bit more careful than usual.
For the remaining districts across Telangana, a Yellow Alert has been issued, suggesting the chance of adverse weather conditions, and it also encourages residents to keep checking local updates.
Beyond rainfall, the department also mentioned a few other points like gusty winds, thunderstorms and lightning activity. These things can really disrupt travel, plus any outdoor plans, during the forecast window.
Based on recent observations, some districts have already seen measurable rainfall.
Khammam district saw some of the higher totals, for example Enkuru Mandal reported 7.9 cm, and Tallada recorded 6 cm. These numbers point to strong rain activity in certain parts of the district.
Other districts also reported rain, including Aswaraopeta (Bhadradri Kothagudem) 4 cm, Dammapeta (Bhadradri Kothagudem) 3 cm, and Venkatapuram Mandal (Mulugu) around 1.7 cm.
Overall, the recorded rainfall suggests a slow but steady rise in pre monsoon activity across the region.
The weather department says the Southwest Monsoon is expected to reach Kerala and Tamil Nadu by Thursday. This movement of the monsoon is considered an important seasonal phase, and it may push rainfall activity higher across parts of southern India over the next days.
As the monsoon keeps advancing, weather conditions over Telangana may keep shifting, even day to day.
