Pooja Vastrakar Out Of WPL For Two Weeks Due To Injury

The all-rounder from Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) Pooja Vastrakar will be absent for the coming two weeks from the Women’s Premier League (WPL) because of an injury. Head coach Rangarajan made this announcement. Vastrakar had her last appearance in the T20 World Cup which took place in October 2024. She was purchased by RCB in the WPL auction last November for the sum of Rs. 85 lakhs.

Injury Details

Coach Rangarajan said that Vastrakar had a shoulder injury first and then she was sent to the Centre of Excellence for rehabilitation. Afterward, she got a hamstring injury that will keep her away from the sport for about two weeks.

Team Adjustments in Her Absence

The RCB's bowling duties have passed on to the English left-arm spinner Linsey Smith, Arundhati Reddy, and Nadine de Klerk with Vastrakar being out of action. RCB did well to limit the Mumbai Indians to 154 runs in their first match. Although the chase was slow to get off, Nadine de Klerk made an unbeaten 63 runs and so led RCB to a three-wicket win.
