The criticism of the YSRCP leader Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy by Andhra Pradesh's Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu was made during a conference open to the public in Rayavaram, the East Godavari district. He doubted Jagan's knowledge of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model and his strong opposition to the planned projects under it.
The Chief Minister accused Jagan of not agreeing to the establishment of medical colleges through the PPP system. He added that the same model was used to construct the Bhogapuram airport. He claimed that Jagan first tried to kill the airport project and is now taking the credit for it. Naidu wanted to know why PPP is alright for the airport but not for medical colleges.
Naidu proclaimed that his government does not back the ghettoization of the Telugu people. He asserted that he is mainly concerned about the welfare of the Telugu race. He declared that interlinking of the rivers would rejuvenate Andhra Pradesh. He also added that these kinds of projects could be a blessing for Telangana if needed.
The Chief Minister charged that the supply of ghee to Tirumala was mixed during the last government's rule. He also talked of irregularities regarding darshan arrangements. He asserted that the present administration keeps Tirumala with reverence and devotion. He called the opposition's tactics as putting empty liquor bottles in the areas and great reports through Sakshi TV and its newspaper. He informed that the arrests of those responsible were made on the basis of hologram evidence investigations.
Naidu accused the previous government of treating Dr. Sudhakar badly. He recounted the shocking tale of Dr. Sudhakar, who was "made" to stand on the road, got “certified” as being mentally unwell, and whose life just “petered out” at the end in that manner. He also mentioned the present government’s gesture of support towards Dr. Sudhakar’s family, which was his son’s appointment and the grant of Rs. 1 crore as financial assistance.
The CM remarked that he conceptually proposed the grand aarti at the prior Godawari Pushkarams. He mentioned that he will be given a chance to run the Pushkarams for the third time next year. Further, he said that the Polavaram project would be finished and handed over to the country in March. He continued that the project would have been finished by 2021 had he not lost the past elections.
