CM Revanth Reddy Criticizes Centre Over MNREGS

Telangana's CM Revanth Reddy uttered worries about central government's attitude towards MNREGS (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme). He doubted whether the government under Modi will carry out the change that will affect impoverished groups negatively.

TPCC Meeting Extensively Discussed

At the Gandhi Bhavan meeting, Revanth Reddy brought up these issues among others. TPCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud attended the gathering.

Worried about Employment Guarantee Scheme

The Chief Minister declared that the Congress would never be silent regarding what he characterized as central government's arbitrary actions. He added that it is not permissible to open the way for legislative majority to weaken welfare schemes to the poorer section of society. He also pointed out that MNREGS is being recognized and has made a great impact in the society and economy.

He made the accusation of efforts being put in to cripple the scheme by changing its rules and added that such actions could lead to the destruction of the scheme's framework forever.

Reference to 2024 Elections and Change of Constitution

Revanth Reddy then brought BJP's 2024 elections campaign to light where the party intended to secure 400 seats. He said that such a big vote could have been used for the purpose of changing the Constitution and taking away lesser section's rights. He further mentioned that BJP got 240 seats, the reason being public awareness created by Congress party.

Charges on Voting Procedures

The Chief Minister went on saying that the SIR process was introduced with the objective of disenfranchising the voters. He stated that there was a larger conspiracy behind this act and warned the party men to be ever vigilant.
