CM Stalin Criticizes Governor For Leaving Assembly Session

The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin criticized Governor R.N. Ravi during the Tamil Nadu Assembly session. Stalin said that the Governor insulted his own office by refusing to deliver his address on the first day of the session. He added that no previous governors had behaved in this way.

Political Crisis and Past Challenges

Stalin declared that he experiences a political crisis which former Chief Ministers Annadurai Karunanidhi M.G. Ramachandran and Jayalalithaa did not experience. He stated that crises are not new to him and that he has handled many difficult situations in the past.

Disagreement Over National Anthem

According to Stalin the Governor demanded that the National Anthem be played at the start of the Assembly session instead of reading his address. The Governor departed from the Assembly after he received notice that the anthem would be played after the speech. Stalin criticized the Governor saying that those who do not respect their own position should not lecture others on patriotism.

Governor’s Explanation

Governor R.N. Ravi explained that he walked out because the Tamil Mother prayer song was completed without the National Anthem and because the microphone was cut off multiple times during his speech. This session marked the fourth consecutive time that R.N. Ravi left a Tamil Nadu Assembly session before completing his address.
