Chandrababu Naidu, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, mentioned that Jagganna Thota Prabhalu Teertham is a spiritual and cultural festival that has been going on for almost 400 years. The Chief Minister pointed out that the festival takes place every year on Kanuma day, where the Ekadasha Rudras of the 11 ancient Shiva temples are shown in palanquins (Prabhalu) and right on a single platform. Chandrababu posted this information on X (previously known as Twitter).
The state head made it clear that the government acknowledges the devotion and faith of the people of Konaseema, who have been maintaining this tradition for generations. He mentioned that the cabinet had come to a conclusion to let Jagganna Thota Prabhalu Teertham be a state festival. Full government backing is there for the event, which draws around 500,000 visitors every year. This, according to Chandrababu, is a way to promote cultural tourism in Konaseema as well.
