The Visakhapatnam Cyclone Warning Centre reports that a low-pressure system located over North Sri Lanka and the Southwest Bay of Bengal will intensify during the next two days.
Jagannath Kumar, an official at the centre, said a cyclonic circulation linked to the system remains active at a height of about 5.8 kilometers above sea level. The coastal districts will experience strong winds because the system produces winds that reach speeds between 40 and 50 km/h.

Officials reported that the region experienced rainfall throughout the past 24 hours. Paderu in Alluri Sitarama Raju district recorded 32.4 mm of rain during this period.
