Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan was worried over what he called unnecessary advertising for very small matters in Pithapuram. He remarked that even little incidents are being blown up and spread all over. He asked people to refrain from rumor-mongering or misleading. Pawan Kalyan said this as a part of his speech during the Peethikapura Sankranthi Mahotsavalu in Pithapuram.
Appeal for Meaningful Sankranthi Celebrations

Pawan Kalyan noticed the potential of Pithapuram as a major center for the celebration of Sankranthi. He pointed out that the festival should develop in such a manner that everyone, regardless of their religion can participate. He also invited the women from Telangana especially to come and enjoy the warmth of the Godavari districts which would in turn help in strengthen the cultural bonds between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
- He added that Sankranthi should not be considered only as the festival of cockfights and gambling. He said that he was not against such activities but he stressed that the festival should have a social and cultural meaning that is more extensive than that.
Importance of Pithapuram and Development Plans
- By stressing the religious importance of Pithapuram, Pawan Kalyan called it a great Shakti Peetha for the whole country. He mentioned that it was the place where Sripada Sri Vallabha appeared. He said that his announcement to contest from Pithapuram was a matter of faith.
- He furthermore mentioned that the town will be subject to multiple development plans. He told the citizens that regardless of his status in power, he would never stop doing things for Pithapuram. He claimed that he would stand by the residents of the constituency for the entire duration of his life.
Law and Order Concerns
- Pawan Kalyan compared media attention in different regions, stating that serious incidents elsewhere receive less attention, while minor issues in Pithapuram are highlighted as major events. He warned that any attempts to disturb peace in Pithapuram would be dealt with firmly.
- He criticized the previous government for using abusive language and filing false cases. He claimed that efforts are being made to recreate such conditions in Pithapuram. He instructed the police to act strictly to maintain law and order.
Support for Leadership and Alliance Stability
Pawan Kalyan stated that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s experience is essential for the development of Andhra Pradesh. He also cautioned alliance leaders against taking actions that could weaken the coalition. He concluded by saying that while his words may sound calm, he approaches public issues with seriousness and personal responsibility.
