The Republic Day festivities marked their inaugural celebration in Amaravati after the city became the administrative center of Andhra Pradesh. The national flag was raised by State Governor Justice Abdul Nazeer during the official ceremony.
The event received attendance from Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan was also present. The celebrations included participation from multiple state ministers who included Nara Lokesh Atchannaidu Narayana and Kollu Ravindra.
The event occurred at a ground which the organizers specially built for their activities in Amaravati close to the High Court. The Governor received a guard of honour from 11 parade contingents. The different services and departments sent these contingents to the event.
The parade featured a total of 22 tableaux which showed the development and progress of the state. The celebrations attracted large numbers of farmers and students from the capital region who joined the public festivities.
