Request To Grant Legal Status To Amaravati

The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N. Chandrababu Naidu, made a request to the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, to provide legal legitimacy to Amaravati as the capital city of Andhra Pradesh. He went ahead and stated that Amaravati should be included in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act by way of an amendment passed by Parliament. Saying that legal acknowledgment would develop the state, he also pointed out the meeting of public expectations.

Chandrababu Naidu arrived in New Delhi on Wednesday, and after that, he met Amit Shah at the residence of the Home Minister on Krishna Menon Marg that night. He made the request that the related bill to Amaravati’s legal status be brought in and passed at the Parliament session.

Asking for Financial Support and Budget

The Chief Minister expressed his worries about the rural employment guarantee scheme. He pointed out the scheme will use up 60:40 funds from the central and state governments. He asked for a different arrangement for Andhra Pradesh under the scheme.

He, more, asked Amit Shah, a member of the Union Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, to prioritize Andhra Pradesh in the Union Budget that is going to be presented on February 1. He told the financial condition of the state and requested the central government to provide financial support and cooperation that will be adequate. He also informed the Home Minister that two new districts have been created and changes in revenue divisions have been made to facilitate administration.

Appeal for Purvodaya Proposals Approval

Chandrababu Naidu made a request for financial support for capital expenses with the aim of restoring the infrastructures that were damaged during the previous government’s presidency. He stated that the governmental support and the faster approvals needed for the huge projects that were to be set up in the state are very much.

The Chief Minister requested the support to keep on coming so that the Polavaram and Amaravati projects can be finished within the scheduled time. He went on to describe the measures that are being taken to set up the industries based on the agreements that were made during the Visakhapatnam investment summit. He further said that he had gone to the Polavaram project that very day and had inspected the progress.

Meeting with LG Company Representatives

After the meeting with Amit Shah, Chandrababu Naidu held talks with the representatives of LG at his official residence, 1 Janpath, New Delhi. They evaluated the status of the company’s new industrial unit in Sri City. The meeting was initially supposed to take place in Amaravati, but the company’s officials were forced to come to Delhi as a result of the Chief Minister’s change of schedule.
